Terms of Service
Last Updated: February 2026. By accessing or using Veteransition (the "Service"), including our web application and mobile apps for iOS and Android, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
1. Use of Service
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or lawful resident to use Veteransition. The Service is designed for active duty service members, veterans, and their families transitioning from military service.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Veteransition only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment. You agree not to:
- Harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
- Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.
- Reproduce, duplicate, or copy content for commercial purposes without permission.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Use the Service to collect personal information about others without consent.
2. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.
- Providing accurate and truthful information during registration.
Veteransition reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in prohibited conduct.
3. Subscription and Payment
Free and Paid Tiers
Veteransition offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid tier upgrades are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method.
Billing
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your account settings.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.
- Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase, excluding service usage.
No Refunds for Cancellation
If you cancel mid-period, you will not receive a refund for the remainder of that period. Your access continues until the end of your paid billing cycle.
4. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Veteransition (including text, graphics, logos, and software) are the exclusive property of Veteransition LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not:
- Reverse engineer or decompile our code or apps.
- Scrape data or content from our Service.
- Create derivative works based on our proprietary content.
Your Data
You retain ownership of the data you input into Veteransition (your transition plans, goals, and personal information). You grant Veteransition a non-exclusive license to use this data to provide and improve the Service.
5. Limitation of Liability
Veteransition is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- The Service will meet your specific needs.
- All information provided is accurate or complete.

Important: Veteransition is a planning and accountability tool, not a substitute for professional military transition counseling, financial advice, medical care, or legal services. See our full Disclaimer section for details on the limitations of our Service.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Veteransition LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
7. Termination
Veteransition may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service.
- Illegal or fraudulent activity.
- Non-payment of subscription fees.
- Inactivity (unused accounts may be disabled after 12 months).
Upon termination, your access to the Service will be immediately revoked. You may request a download of your data within 30 days of termination.
8. Third-Party Services
Veteransition integrates with third-party services including:
- Stripe: For payment processing. Stripe's terms govern payment transactions.
- Supabase: For secure data storage and backend infrastructure.
- Capacitor: For mobile app functionality on iOS and Android.
We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their respective terms and policies.
9. Modifications to Terms
Veteransition reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, you and Veteransition agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation. You must notify us of any dispute by sending a detailed written notice to legal@veteransition.com within 30 days of discovering the dispute.
Arbitration
If the dispute cannot be resolved within 60 days of the notice, you agree that any and all disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court. The arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and will be held in a mutually agreed location or, if not agreed, in the District of Columbia. Each party will bear its own costs, with the arbitrator determining who pays the arbitration filing fees.
Exceptions
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement, breach of confidentiality, or unauthorized access to our systems.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service and all associated policies are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration agreement herein.
